I just wanted to encourage people to try going to a gym and weight training.
By early summer I was up to running 5 miles a day with one run of 7 1/2 miles. I was riding my bike 30 miles really well so for me my cardio was really good. This just did not help me get up Dail and Nippletop very well. And I have burning legs for many days after.
I joined a gym with my wife this summer. I just joined to keep her company and get her going. This summer was hot and the weather unpredictable so I spent more time in it then I thought I would.
I started to do every weight machine for legs in the gym and after just 6 sessions, my son and I did the seward range and I felt alot stronger and recovered alot faster.
2 weeks ago I did Colvin and blake and my recovery was good again.
I NEVER though this would be the case and I NEVER would have joined a gym on my own.
I am looking forward to seeing how this goes in the future. I really hate being the slow hiker....
