  • DEC: Some trails closed; others being assessed

No trail closures in the High Peaks but if you're working the Fire Tower Challenge then Pillsbury and Snowy should be off your radar for a while and the Hadley trailhead (which normally has two approaches) is only accessible from one direction. Lots of other closures for backcountry explorers as well...

From Eddy Road to Hadley Hill trailhead. One large culvert right at the junction with Tower Road. And the drainage from Hadley crosses Tower Road on the Eddy Road side of the trailhead.

Noticed that Gulf Brook Road, just improved, has gotten damage too!!

First five pics here show bridge damage near Hadley...

Isn't Adam's basically off limits too as a result of the downed Bridge?

On a plus side, Devil's Path in the Cats is reopened.

(I have never hiked either of those trails)

I don't think so. There were a few reports of folks heading to Allen so I would guess the bridge over the Hudson is either passable (though damaged and leaning) or you could wade if the water was low/safe enough.

Also, trail work being done on Saturday 11/9...

Adams comes well before the lost wooden bridge, but after the hanging metal bridge that was littered with debris, but still standing.

Climbed Hadley on Nov 6. Arrived from I87 Exit 18 thru Hadley. Initially Tower Road closed. On return drove back via Eddy Rd. Tower road fully open after Highway Dept had finished repairs.
