Won't be the last complaint, sadly.

First post/comment about lack of snow shoes for the season! Congrats, Sean!

For some reason I have almost always chosen to descend via the road. Not sure if its because I'm drawn to hiking in loops or because it just feels better (for the first half) after being on trail for the whole ascent... the views usually make it worth it.

I explored Esther from various directions, its pretty cool and has plenty to offer. Whiteface, hard to beat the views. Great photos, thanks.

I love seeing these winter photos. The pink in the panorama photo is especially awesome.

    Whiteface & Esther December 8

Went for a quick hike on Saturday, first one in a long time. Was great, temperature was perfect, nice snowshoe track the whole way door-to-door.

If any of you were one of the people I passed wearing microspikes instead of snowshoes, you're a real jerk. You may not have been post-holing, but you weren't making the trail any nicer for everyone else.

Whiteface hung on to a cloud all day. Was pea-soup thick.

Anyway, I opted for a death march down the road in hopes of getting out from Whiteface's thick cloud. I was rewarded.
