  • Conditions Update 1/15

After the warm weather and one cold night the trails in the Interior High Peaks are down to about 0-3" of rock hard snow/ice at 2000 feet. Increasing to 3-6" of the same boilerplate at 4000 feet. Microspikes were all that was needed today. Indian Pass Brook required a ford at the normal crossing, zero snow and ice left in the brook after the melt-off.

Crust season may have come early this year!

EDIT: I'm sure conditions will vary and there will be greater snow depth on say Marcy or Algonquin, so bring your snowshoes too!
