Big Slide, November Hiking
Good Morning!
I'm looking for an opportunity to hike another high peak this year, and it looks like mid-november is my only chance. Getting to the area after work on a Friday will also mean a late arrival, so I'm thinking of forgoing the tent in favour of a room. We'd been thinking a room at the Loj then hiking Colden, but we noe think we may need something less anbitious after a long drive and limited sleep
Is Big Slide a decent choice? If so, how far is the trailhead from the Ausable inn? Specifically wondering about starting the hike from the inn. I hear the lot fills up, and we may be seeking a bit extra sleep.
Anything to know about November hiking? Will I need to plan for snow up top? Bring winter stuff?
