  • DEC to re-stock extirpated species in Lake Tear

After a century of hard work, the DEC plans to re-stock an extirpated species back into Lake Tear. This species was fished out in the late 1800's and it is thought that the great Teddy Roosevelt caught the last one in 1901.

Are you sure that's a fish?

So Teddy caught the last one just before the messenger arrived, and then forgot to tell anyone? That makes sense, all things considered.

That's where they're getting them from.

But is Lake Tear of the Clouds big enough? Seems like there could be run-ins with hikers, due to the small size of the lake. Its a bad idea. Lake Champlain is at least 3 times bigger than Lake Tear of the Clouds. I feel like I'm taking crazy pills!

Do you think they're planning on stocking Lake Colden too, or are they too afraid of food storage issues at campsites? These things can open bear canisters, you know!

Hikers would then have to purchase thing canisters.
