These guys skied the 46 and the Catskill 3500s. Not too shabby.

And here's a little bonus from our own local bro, Jonathan Zaharek. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iqmlYS-4-CQ
The JLC doesn't have quite the same level of grandeur as the full 46, but its still a really impressive feat. Even more so when you consider that most people have historically completed it on little skinny classic or skate skis.My mind was wandering like the wild geese in the west.-
havent watched variable yet, but i agree with LTT in that i didn't really like JZ's earlier videos as much, however this JLC vid was definitely way more enjoyable.
Thanks for mentioning it, was perfect for a good half-hour workout on the bike, plus for someone who still aspires to get into BC skiing this was a terrific watch.👍 2 -
Learning The Trails
@bikerhiker
Yeah, I think the same goes with any content creator. Some stuff is pretty good, some of it I give a hard pass to. I think JZ has definitely stepped up his game in terms of video production, presentation, etc.
Here's a pretty good one that could be useful for anyone who hasn't hiked up/down Saddleback's ledges: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cim5xqzdSkQ start ~3:00 if you want to skip the "influencer" part and just get to the content.
Another bonus: Skiing Allen https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9LxKHpoiWrg We'll give him a pass for saying north river rather than East River. -
@flyfishingandbeer agreed regarding presentation. I admit I don't think I've seen one of his videos in around five years. His early videos had some things that made me cringe (ie. Butt sliding with big spiked crampons on). So, good for him for learning and sharing better quality info.👍 1

Jamie and Doug Kennard (and their father Jim) are friends of ours. Their story of skiing the Catskills & Adirondacks is bittersweet as Jamie's wife passed away before they finished. We saw the film in Woodstock in December and enjoyed it immensely. As a downhill skier, I cannot even fathom skiing the high peaks ..... it's hard enough snowshoeing up and down them!👍 3Comment
