We definitely have less bees, hornets and wasps than say even 5 years ago but this year I have seen more honeybees than I did the last two years when I saw less than a dozen!
We have Rhododendrons that would be absolutely covered with all those mentioned but not anymore.
Diseases and insecticides are taking their toll big time.
I've been walking around Albany Rural Cemetery every day for the last 6 weeks and noticed a lack of bees. I've seen one hornet in that time and come across just a few bumblebees each day. It seems when I was a kid in the 70's you couldn't walk 10 feet without running into a bee. Now I walk miles and barely see any.
