We came down the cable route. I didn't get a good look at True north, but don't imagine it's skiable at the moment. Storm brewing Wed may change that, however!

HAVE A CIGAR from wish you were here Pink Floyd 1975

Come in here, Dear boy, have a cigar. Come in here, Dear NoTrace, have a cigar
You're gonna fly high, You're gonna climb high
You're never gonna die, You're never gonna fall,
    You're gonna make it, if you try; You're gonna climb it, if you try;
They're gonna love you. They're gonna read your TR.
Well I've always had a deep respect, Well I've always had a deep respect,
And I mean that most sincerely. And I mean that most sincerely.
The band is just fantastic, The team is just fantastic,
that is really what I think. that is really what I think.
Oh by the way, which one's Pink? Oh by the way, which one's NP?

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy? And did we tell you the name of the game, NoTrace?
We call it Riding the Gravy Train. We call it climbing the biggest face

We're just knocked out. The mountain is just climbed out.
We heard about the sell-out. We heard about the past TR
You gotta get an album out. You gotta get another TR out.
You owe it to the people. You owe it to the forum
We're so happy we can hardly count. We're so tired we can hardly walk out
Everybody else is just green, Everybody else is just green,
Have you seen the chart? Have you seen the number of reply
    It's a hell of a start, It's a hell of a TR
It could be made into a monster It could be made into a monster
If we all pull together as a team. If we all climb together as a team.

And did we tell you the name of the game, boy?And did we tell you the name of the game, NoTrace
We call it Riding the Gravy Train. We call it climbing the biggest face

    Some really nice pictures guys.

Kevin traversing across the face at the top of the rising corner is an absolute winner. I won't bother deconstructing to tell you what I like it, but it is good.

The picture was taken on Thursday Sept 25th 1975, i.e. during the post monsoon season, when there is still lots of snow on the mountain.

The pic of Dougal Haston on the Hillary step is an icon in Mountaineering and was taken by Doug Scott.

There is an application that tell you which day of the week a given date falls on and can be found here.

Dougal Haston on the Hillary Step, just below the Everest Summit, 1975

Did you know that is partner Doug Scott, who is one of the foremost mountaineer, nearly died at POKO Moonshine due to rockfall when he was standing at the bottom of Gamesmanship 5.8

Thanks for the correction NP, I didn't get past "Dugal".
