Figured I’d start a catalog of Hurricane Irene related slides from what I’ve seen or heard from various people and or photos. Let’s add to this as we get more info!
Algonquin:
1. Enlarged Northeast Bowl Slide across from Wright's Airplane slides and cleared the drainage of trees.
2. Minor slide on NW drainage.
Basin:
1. Augmented and new "NE Shoulder Slide" - Debris field intersections Saddleback’'s southern slide and Basin E. Face runout.
2. New and enlarged slides in Chicken Coop Slide array.
3. 3-4 Tributary slides from Basin's ridge just south of the East Face Slides. These slid into the Basin East Face the run-out which was cleaned to Shanty Brook.
Blake:
1. 3 new slide tracks low on SW aspect - Large Dual tributary track and a small slide to it's NE.
Cascade:
1. New "Cascade Slide" beginning at the old horizontal part of previous “T” shaped slide - Runout reaches Upper Cascade Lake.
Colden:
1. Trap Dike cleaned from new "Trap Dike Slide" (higher elevation) paralleling previous exit slide from Trap Dyke.
2. New slide down drainage south of Avalanche Pass Slide- Cruciflyer Slide, formerly had small slides along southern edge.
3. Small slide (very minimal) NW of false summit between false summit drainages and above cliff.
4. Colden Cooler Slide created on northern flank of north shoulder (below trail to Lake Arnold).
Dix:
1. New northern tributary of Beckhorn Slide on east side of Dix.
2. New Buttress Slide on SW running buttress between Hunters Pass Slide and North Fork Slide.
3. Two small tributaries added to southern edge of Hunters Pass Slide.
Giant:
1. East face activity per Drew Haas.
2. Putnam Brook slide on Giant looked expanded and cleaned up per "TCD".
3. Two changes to NE Slide - a new tributary on far west side and enlarge E tributary.
4. Enlarged Tulip Slide.
Gothics:
1. New slide added to Orebed Slide Array on Gothics NW face (E of Orebed Trail, but NOT the one that intersects the trail).
2. New Orebed Slide that intersects trail (2 tributaries). There was previously a very small exposure.
Howard:
1. New "Howard Slide" on north aspect.
Iroquois:
1. Minor activity on NW aspect.
Lower Wolf Jaw:
1. Enlarged Bennies Root Canal Slide - New Tributary descends north from summit with run-out cleaned to Johns Brook.
2. New Khyber's Slide (2 tributaries) 1 ridge southwest of Bennies; run-out cleaned to Johns Brook.
Macomb:
1. Multiple slides south of summit
Marcy
1. New slide on East side between cliffs and the scythe shaped slide
Saddleback:
1. Added NW branch (aka Catastrophic Chaos) that connects to the old NE (Back in the Saddle) slide, added adjacent slide to the SE that almost connects, lengthened runout.
2. NEW - 3 smaller slides between Back in the Saddle and the Orebed Trail.
3. NEW - 3 slides (one 1,350' long) on SE face of Saddleback-Facing Gothics' South Face.
Tabletop:
1. Slide on north aspect of 1285 m peak..
2. Slide on north aspect of Tabletop’s east ridge (drains into Hogback Brook).
Upper Wolf Jaw:
1. Enlarged the "Skinny” Slide" on NW ridge - Enlarged along east side.
2. Enlarged the "Wide Slide" (NW ridge's western-most slide): New slab at bottom, right-rising gully has rubble added, upper pitch was enlarged along the eastern side of the pre-existing slab (largest portion on the west). Upper pitch also has a new smaller run on the east side. Runout intersects trail and continues to Johns Brook near Wolfjaws Lean-to (destroyed the privy).
3. New short slide (about 500' with runout) between 1 and 2 above.
4. New slide-Beaver Brook Slide on E starting near top of White Slide to col b/t Armstrong and UWJ, long run-out.
Whiteface
1. Small slab exposed on south side.
Wright:
1. New Angel Slide west of 1999 slides with long run-out tracking toward Marcy Dam.
Wilmington #1:
1. Cooper Kill Slide: East side (1 minor track/1 major)
