Burke VT 3/22
Before I did Burke this weekend I bagged a whole slew of other VT 3ks - Cold Hollow, Umpire, and East Haven -- but Burke has some more special significance because it was the final peak of my VT3K list (110 peaks total)
I met up with Dave bear who was looking to get out after Caveman's party at the mid mountain lodge at Burke Ski area. The skies has cleared up and there was a dead on view into Willoughby Notch (awesome). We donned out MSRs with the cheater-bars (televators) and wandered up the left most slope right up near the tippy top. It was cold, a bit windy, but the sun was nice, and so were the views of all the familiar NEK 3000 footers like the Senecas, and East. Once we topped out we climbed the fire tower which amazingly still has intact windows (a rarity in VT!) There we had a dead on view of the Presis, Franconia ridge and moosilauke. Not to mention the Pliny, Weeks, Pilot range, the Longs, and other fun 3ks further north/east (Savage etc). To our west you could see the Northern ADK, to our north Quebec, and to our SW Mansfield, the worcesters etc. Awesome day. This peak is well positioned for some killer views. Will have pics later (No camera for me, but Dave took a bunch).

Yes, just Vermont peaks!
All 110 of them! Here is the basic rule for Vermont 3000 footers (some exceptions apply) South of I-89 easy 'whacking North of I-89 not as easy 'whacking
