Scaur, Fool Killer, West Sleeper
Just checking in to let everyone know that I shamefully ignored the Adirondacks for one more weekend.
After hiking with Neighbor on Saturday in Southern Vt. I joined my Mainiac friends, Onestep and Mhrsebego for some NH 3K's (also NH 100 highest). I think the Foolkiller got it's name because back in the 1800's people used to try climb the Tripyramids and ended up on what's now known as the Foolkiller. I guess the GPS satellites weren't quite up to speed yet. Another interesting fact is that West Sleeper is not on the New England 100 highest list even though it is higher than East Sleeper which is on the list. However West Sleeper is on the NE 3k list and the NH 100 highest list. Don't ax me! Anyway, the bushwhacking was easy on this trip, all on firm snow in open woods. We did a neat bushwhack route direct from West Sleeper to the Sabbaday Brook Trail. A lot of high quality glissading in good corn snow conditions. We also got a bonus 4K (Middle Tripyramid) out of the deal. Last edited by Pig Pen; 04-02-2007 at 08:11 PM. Reason: The prufe reeder is a idiote |

If you hike with Neighbor then I doubt I'd want my daughter to marry you. But seeings as I don't have a daughter then I guess it's OK. Do you wear a helmet when you glissade? Or a dress, like somebody else?
When you is good and ready to do some whackin in the Non-New-England part of the werld (ie. the reel werld) you let me know, eh, y'hear? |

No dresses or helmets, but some of us did wear high heels on the up hill parts. Sounds like I have been double or triple dared to bushwhack in the Daks. I'm not sceered.

My understanding is that some guys who hike in NH, VT or ME are wimps with a troubled history, a checkered past if you will. Furthermore, at least one of those hikers actually wears dresses and bikini bras. I've seen it on the internet with both o' my eyes.
I guess you 2 characters don't know squat about that sort of sordid thing now do youse? |
