Ranger Dawson says he goes over there periodically.

I passed that place during that time on the way to the falls, now I know why there were so many cops in the area.

I passed by her (the TV reporter) yesterday as they were about to shoot that clip. The article says the crackdown was from the 7th to the 9th but I think that was just for the citations mentioned because there was a cop on the side of the road on my way up and another with its lights on when I came back down near dark.

This is in essence a good thing, but it's cops just flexing their muscles. The problems will come back when the cops get tired of going in there.

What it is is the local community using the tools it has access to to protect its resources. Resources that I enjoy and want to see protected.

Not necessarily. If the word gets around, people will get the message that you should not trash the Catskill Park.

But there is no stopping some people from being slobs, scofflaws, etc.

Excellent. I don't ever recall seeing "scofflaws" used on this forum.

Good for them. We need authorities to crack the whip a little bit around here, I think.

The same goes for young kids on ATVs in the woods. They trash trails because they do not respect nature. It is a shame that some people just do not give a damn. I hope the fines begin the process of thinking about a better way to act. Insurance companies charge young males higher rates because many young males do not have good sense. Hopefully the police will keep it up.
