Giant Ledge 05-01-11
I wanted a couple of days away from the Big Apple and picked the hike that got me hooked on hiking in the Catskills. Giant Ledge was fantastic this pass weekend. Cool temps to hike in, very few bugs and a clear blue sky. There was no snow to be seen on the ledge and only the usual muddy spots after the junction with Woodland Valley. The spring has a new pipe installed by the Catskill 4000 Club ? Is there such a hiking club or is some on pulling a fast one.
I love the complete view of the Devil's path from Giant ledge. I got buzzed by the buzzards on a number of occasions. Saturday night I enjoyed the stargazing with a bottle of Cretan red wine. A good weekend in the woods for sure. ![]() Here are the pics: http://outdoors.webshots.com/album/580133319yGdxrf
