Balsam Lake 2/18/6
It was sunny in Kingston as we drove up, but it started snowing soon after, and snowed off and on all day up there. The temps were in the teens and the wind blew strongly at times.
We started at 9:15 from the Millbrook Road PA. By 10:30 we were at the tower. The cold wind kept us moving! The wind chill was below 0, as evidenced by frozen eyelashes, and other body parts! But that's a VFTT Thread! ![]() There is almost 0 snow down low, but it picks up near the top. We brought our snowshoes but never needed them going up. We wore them going down for traction. There was a lot of ice under the new powder. Back to the car before 12. Off to the Adirondacks!
