Black Dome-Thomas Cole-Blackhead-Acra Point (Catskills) 6-16

It was a great day to be out hiking some more Catskill 3500' mountains with our friend Linda. She had hiked many of the 35 years ago,but has started fresh again with her list.12/39 in the last few weeks.I hadn't been up Big Hollow since the big storms from last Aug.. Most of the bridge and road repairs are done in the area.We took the red trail up to Lockwood gap and climbed Black Dome over to Thomas Cole, then Black Dome-to Black head. The trails are in great shape .Thanks to the maintainers!. There are also two new bridges on the trail. We had some real nice views along the way.Once on Blackhead we took the steep blue trail down to the yellow trail junction. At that point we decided to go over to Acra point a Catskill Hundred highest. We came back out past the Batavia Kill leanto that looks like it needs some work.We both had to be back early or else we would have hiked over to Windham H.P.. Here are a few pictures.https://picasaweb.google.com/lh/sred...IVA&feat=email

Good to see people are getting out enjoying the view. What a great way to share the day!

Thanks Ralph. I've been feeling guilty since I just can't seem to find a day to get to my section between BD and TC, so it's good to hear that it's ok up there!

Glad to hear the trails are in good shape. I was hoping Maria got up there and took care of my section on the way to hers, but I guess not. Sounds like you had a great day.

Ralph, sorry, going hijack the thread for a sec. Bill, hitting my section early Sunday before the 3500 Club board mtg if you want to tag team. Though yours is definitely more work than mine - so not sure if I should be offering!
