Sawteeth,gothics,armstrong,and wolf jaws 4/29/12
We took the lake road to ausable lake and proceeded to rainbow falls. 7:30 am the sun was shining and the rainbow was breath taking! Climbed to sawteeth and up to pyramid what a spectacular view. Over to gothics and followed the range trail to Armstrong, and the wolfjaws. Microspikes were used 3000 ft. and above. I carried crampons and snowshoes neither were needed. There was about 2-3 inches of fresh snow and pockets of consolidated snow over 12 inches. Marcy off in the distance appeared to have heavy snow.

Thanks for the scoop. We are climbing Lower on friday and UWJ>Gothics on Saturday. Sounds like just about what was expected (and hoped for).

Sounds like somebody forgot to set there alarm clock! Lol that must have been fun to do a thru hike, I would like to do that sometime. I miss my mom she was a great teacher and I was lucky enough to have her as my social studies teacher in 5th grade. I think she did teach 3rd grade at the beginning of her career(your sorta giving up your age) lol! Yes we lucked out with the weather it has rained ever since. Pat |
