I was hoping to hit up porter/cascade saturday.
Does anyone know if I'll still need snowshoes?
How about crampons?

I checked the DEC site but all it says is less than 1" and I'd had to come all that way unprepared.

I went up Whiteface last Saturday, I didn't need snowshoes. I wore microspikes for the second half of the hike. My friend still summited without them, but really wished he had brought them.

We got (at 2000' in Lake Placid) 3-4 inches of slushy crap Sunday nigft. I imagine it was higher amounts of snow up high. Hasn't been very warm since and has spit snow every day.
Going where the wind don't blow so strange
Maybe off on some high cold mountain range.
