crampons?
I was hoping to hit up porter/cascade saturday.
Does anyone know if I'll still need snowshoes? How about crampons? I checked the DEC site but all it says is less than 1" and I'd had to come all that way unprepared. Thanks! |

I went up Whiteface last Saturday, I didn't need snowshoes. I wore microspikes for the second half of the hike. My friend still summited without them, but really wished he had brought them.

We got (at 2000' in Lake Placid) 3-4 inches of slushy crap Sunday nigft. I imagine it was higher amounts of snow up high. Hasn't been very warm since and has spit snow every day.
