For masshysteria... Finally. :-)

Took the opportunity to hook up with Sureno and did a Yokum ridge traverse from Olivia's overlook to the Bosquet. Very dry, the usual wet spots are caked and dry.. Leeks are out en masse and I managed to pee on a few of them between Mahanna Cobbles and the Bosquet... We took the burbank trail to reservoir road, made a right where it hits the road and hung a left at the gates. Didn't take the MTB trail to the fire tower road, just the road to the fire tower road and up to the firetower... Followed the ATV trail all the way past the Cobbles and then over down and back up to the cell tower at the Bosquet and hung out at the ski area before moseying out way down the slope to my car. About 7.5 miles according to Sureno's GPS...

Enjoy!

COOOOOOL!! Love the flower pictures, but I think you guys went right past the best viewpoint..... At the top of Mahanna Cobble, there is a path that heads east (right) about 200 feet to a gorgeous viewpoint to the south and east, into PVWS. Views all the way down to Mt Everett and Monument Mt.

Did you shimmy up the fire tower to get a view? (I wont tell anybody, our little secret)

still locked. Could climb the telephone pole at the cobbles though. Maybe there is a geocache up at the top (Do the geocache folks do altitude? I can image the geocachers saying the lat/lng matches the pole but where is the cache? :-) )

I've never noticed a path that leads east. I'll have to look for it next time. I followed a path off the ATV trail off the ridge that led west but it started to drop elevation real fast and so I turned back.
