adkhighpeaks Foundation Board of Directors I am a 46er I cross post at ADKForum
Immediate post-Irene $$ Available.......

The ADKHighpeaks Foundation board has reviewed our finances and while we have already allocated a grant for 2011 (the Cascade Project), we do still have some available cash on hand in order to help clear out the aftereffects of Irene.

We are specifically interested in getting the wilderness/forest preserve areas reopened for hiker travel. We fully expect to be donating to "Irene" related projects for many years to come, but this cash will be on hand to help in the immediacy of the moment.

In order to satisfy our 501(c)(3), we will have to make sure that the following requirements are met.
  • Funding request must be submitted by an established non profit group or institution.
  • Must be earmarked for a specific purpose/project to be written in the grant award notice. (i.e. we will not dump money into a general fund).
  • The specific purpose/project must fall inside the New York State Forest Preserve in either the Adirondack or Catskill mountain regions.
  • They must be limited in scope to funding wilderness/forest preserve zone projects & safe recreation. As outlined in our Mission statement.

An immediate cash award of up to $1000 is available, contingent on the approval of the Board of Directors. If you have needs for a specific project in excess of $1000, please send a detailed explanation and request.

We ask that you please forward this notice on to any applicable agency or group that may be in need.

Also, we would certainly be remiss if we did not take this opportunity to solicit new donations. Now, more then ever, we need capital to be able to help get our wilderness communities back in order. So if you have a couple buck s lying aroung, PLEASE visit out -DONATION PAGE- and consider making a tax deductible gift (just click the donation button).

Please submit requests to:
The Executive Board of the ADKHighpeaks Foundation at timd@adkhighpeaks.com
