  • Car Camping sites in Adirondacks?

Hello. Does anybody know any good car camping sites, such as lean-tos or sites within a 5-minute walk from parking ...preferably without a lot of traffic, possibly off the beaten path, but accessible by car and camping close to car? Thank you. -Paul

There are a few that come to mind.

On 73, there is car camping near the Grace/Carson herd path. Then again, just past the trailhead for Giant.

If you don't mind paying, you can car camp at the ADK Loj.

There are primitive sites along Corey's Road and South Meadows.

What about the Marcy Field area?

This is all Non-Winter based, I have no idea how accessible any of these places are in the Winter.

Thanks for that! That's an impressive resource! You've given me a new project for next summer: adding roadside campsites to OpenStreetMap.
