  • Summit pictures.

Remember to take pictures of your group. Whether you reach the summit or not.

Hopefully Mudrat will volunteer to make another poster.

    Hi Kevin!

One way of the other if all groups take a slf-portrait we'll have them and we can decide on a poster later.

All groups who summit of course have no way of knowing if there are other non-summitting groups so all should take a pic.

Neil, we (TAG, me, and company) summitted Skylight and Gray today. Should the summit photos be posted on this thread or submitted another way?
We are closer now than we were five minutes ago

Does anyone out there know how to convert a frame from a video image taken with an apple iphone, into a single jpg image? I inadvertantly took our summit picture on the video setting.

No doubt there is a better way, but a quick and dirty solution would be to take a screen shot of the frame you want and convert it to jpg format. For me, on my Mac, that would entail using Grab and Preview applications

I just saw this thread while on lunch...
              • Yes, I can definitely do another summit poster. I still have the template.
              • All the pics should be in high resolution (a screenshot won't work unless you want it to appear blurry or very very small). Photoshop has a way to extract stills from video; there are probably other freeware programs that can do the same.
              • Last year I photoshopped many photos so everyone could be represented at was on the summit. i.e. Instead of a camera set on timer with everyone in the pic, I received 4 or 5 pics (each with 1 or 2 people) for some peaks. They then had to be cropped, cut, pasted, color adjusted, blended etc. I'll try to accommodate again, but I'd rather keep it to a minimum if possible, so the more people in a shot the merrier!

Please email them to me with the names of everyone (if possible) & the mountain you hiked to:

              mudrat(at)mackenziefamily.com

***I'm going with the assumption that all submissions are ok to publish beyond this poster.***

Here's a bonus! If we complete the 46 (still to be confirmed), Adirondack Life Magazine will be printing a small piece on the event! The summit shots that I receive will be sent to their designer who will choose a few to include.

I have an iphone 5, and shot our summit photos as video. I found an app called MovieToImage (www.iphoneography.com) $0.99. The process was dead simple once I had the app.

Hi, can you send that to me in the highest resolution available please? Thanks!

Kevin, I will send you cropped and Photoshopped versions of our summit pics so that you have the least amount of mucking around to do.

Cool, thanks I appreciate it. Keep the dpi as high as you can. The poster is 300 dpi at 20" by 30". 20 more summit photos to go.

Yupper! I overlaid the portrait in the corner of the landscape pic. Thank you!

Anyone seen the March-April issue of Adirondac yet. Great pictures and narrative on the trap dike and back page shot of East face slide on Marcy by the one and only Mudrat
Oh yeah thanks for posting the link to your trip report

Thanks for the 'shout out' Jack! Ann did a great job designing this one! I was thrilled that they posted the forum link as well!
