Interesting video for sure! I felt like they could have mentioned Jennifer Pharr Davis's record in 2011. http://www.blueridgeoutdoors.com/new...ecord-lightly/ Its also interesting that she doesn't necessarily want recognition for first female, since she feels that women are just as good at it as men. And I don't think she ran any of it.
    I might be kidding...

The only record holders they mentioned were the ones who were in the video, makes sense to me anyway.

I believe Jan's fully supported 46 FKT is 'only' something like 1.6mph, which is a walking pace. Of course, you have to do it for four days nonstop.

Also you missed the vertical. A mile vertical is easily worth 10 horizontal... Take the peaks out and I could probably equal Jan's distance and time. (Of course, Jan could then run that course in half, maybe a third, the time it would take me)

Another one worth watching is Finding Traction, ultra runner Nikki Kimball's attempt at the Long Trail speed record:

A friend of mine ran a local Girls on the Run charity. They have an annual race which goes right past my front door.

(I don't want to agitate people, so I'll just leave it that Nikki's video was less appealing to me, which is a shame because it was a great story which could have been told better IMO.)

I think this has been posted here before, but a great story. The full movie was on Netflix

Saw the movie, it was terrific!

That was the first that I saw the video about the Canadian. You can see Lazarus (the race organizer) smiling when he announced that he was 6 seconds late. Too funny.

Gary Robbin's account of his Barkley run. There is more to it than the 6 seconds.

Pretty cool story. I still think Jan Wellford can do it.

Well at least he gets credited for a "Fun Run" that's worth something.
