  • Unique Outhouse Design

Stumbled across this rather unique outhouse design in my travels recently. Never quite seen one like this before. It looks like it used to have a roof (but not at present).

I imagine that trying to move one of these when the pit gets full must be a fairly intensive process.

Also, I'm curious to know if anyone else can name the location. :-)

I do know the location, and if my memory serves me correctly, it had a roof for only a very brief time - it was a bit warm and "scented" inside with the roof on.

Yeah, I thought about posting that the Rankins weren't allowed to answer. Which is in itself at least a partial clue to its location.

I think it's illegal to poop in a storm drain.

bud The law technically prohibits dumping into a storm drain. I think they meant from an RV or other mechanical/storage source, but the law and definition of dumping are certainly open to interpretation.

It seems to me that what one would be doing in this outhouse is taking a dump in a storm drain.

I wonder why the seat isn't also made of galvanized steel.
