Just to add on to what Mavs said in the O.P. This place is fantastic. MB and I are going back next week for our 3rd visit in a just over a year. The place has everything you could want. It's comfortable, has a terrific location, the grounds are beautiful, the hosts are the best! Get that bidding started folks! You won't be disappointed!:tup:

The auction thread is HERE (http://www.adkhighpeaks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=9452)
I find it interesting that I didn't even find this thread except by accident. It never showed up when I did my standard "New Posts" filtering. I'm not saying that the "New Posts" button isn't working, only that sometimes stuff gets overlooked or due to nuances of the "last visited" time things can fall through the cracks. Which begs the question... is there any way to get these auction threads to appear in a more visible location?
That aside, I want to bring up a few points for the consideration of potential bidders on the Random Scoots Cabin item...
1. The max number of occupants is 8. But that doesn't mean you have to round up 8 people for an entire week. That would be very difficult to do. Many of my guests will rent the cabin for a week and bring various friends for a few days at a time. That's cool, as long as the number of guests on any one night doesn't exceed the max of 8.
2. Even if you only rent it for two people, the minimum bid is in fact the standard two person rate. And half that money is going to the foundation folks!!
3. I have specifically reserved the week of August 8-15, 2010 for this auction, just to be sure there is a "prime week" available for the auction (many weeks are already booked and those that remain will book well in advance). But there is no reason why the specific dates cannot be changed. It could be ANY week during the time period of mid-June to mid-September. Just be sure to let me know if you are bidding on a different week (check availability) so I can hold it until the end of the auction.

I think it's great of you to offer your place and it looks wonderful. I have been pondering on it, but for me it's still a bit too early. I have been renting something every summer the past few years in the Dacks with friends, but I usually start thinking about it in January. It's hard to commit to a specific week this early on. I may not be the only one which is why there are no bids yet...
