Paul and I were canueing in Ocala National Forest,Fla.many years ago,and spotted a pilated woodpecker .Estimated size16 inches! The sound he made was piercing to our ears,seemed like a Rapter or somethin! Looncry

The one we saw seemed to be around that size, and too it was it's call that got our immediate attention.
