Other than the slides that are incorporated as 'standard routes' to the 46; i.e. Macomb, Seymour and Allen?
True North on Gothics,
2 trips to the Basin Amp, even though it isn't a climbable slide, it required slide climbing technique to reach it
Great Slide
Macomb southwest slide
'Wrong Way Slide' on Basin
Part of the Bat slide on Giant
Hopper slide and Indian slide on Greylock (Berkshires)
Neil, DO the True North! Way cool, when you shimmy over to the edge of the Gothics North Face!:tup:

I have only climbed a handful of the easy and more common slides. One oddball slide that I climbed in 1976 (and that has not been mentioned yet) is the 1947 slide on Macomb. At that time it was the normal route to Macomb as the 1978 slide did not yet exist. It is a bit steeper at the top than the 1978 slide and entailed a longer ridge top hike to the summit. I expect that the old herd path along the south ridge to the summit is no longer so well trod as it was prior to 1978. The 1947 slide is included on Qam1's slide list.
D'oh! You got me by one:
Now I'm ahead of you by 4 :D. That is, if you count going down the Finger slide.

Oh yeah, well, I've done 6 of 'em twice!!! :)
<---- I knew I should have attempted Big Slide!
I think you should get double-points for descents, as they seem to be twice as hard and half as fun as ascents.
BTW, with a newborn at home, I don't think this will be much of a competition for awhile. I'll post info/photos soon.

OK.... for a slide novice (MacComb and Ermine Brook) How about a list of 5 that would make good training climbs for someone (NOT Judy) interested in doing harder ones eventually:tup:
I've only climbed a few:
Colden Trap Dike
Colden SE (1990)
Eagle
Macomb
Nippletop
Dix beckhorn
I like recommending the Colden SE slide. It starts and finishes very close to trails; most of it is easy, and while it's steep at the top, the rock has excellent friction.

Hmmm... guess more than I thought. Here are mine, over the years:
East Dix - Great slide
Dix - SW slide, can't remember which fork
Kilburn - both the long one on the shoulder and the little rubble slide up high on the bump S of the summit
Giant - Eagle
Colden - NE and Trap Dyke
Whiteface - ski slide (main) and Lake Placid
Wright - airplane slide
Nippletop
LWJ - Bennies Brook, right fork
Macomb - both old rubble slide and the one directly to the summit
Santanoni - Ermine Brook
Gothics - True North
Cliff - from Upper Twin Brook
I think that's it!

IMO:
1 Bennies Brook: about 45 from garden off southside trail. Very easy to follow.
2 Colden SE
3 Kilburn: Interesting and not a hard grade. Trail starts near Monument falls on rte 86.
4. True North: On Gothics. Starts 10 min from Orebed L2. Not very exposed, but different and easy to follow.
5. Perhaps Wright Slide on the Algonquin side, though it's an hour's whack from the trail. The slide itself is fairly low-key and very interesting.

Bill - I'll give you seven:
1) Whiteface Ski Slide
2) Bennies Brook
3) Dix North Slide
4) Nippletop
5) Kilburn
6) Snowy
7) Colden SE slide, but only if you're comfortable with exposure. Although the rock is absolutely wonderful, it's mighty steep at the top.
Each have relatively easy approaches.

1) Whiteface Ski Slide
I was a novice on Whiteface Ski Slide and recall having to endure 1000' of "Gecko" jibes because I belly crawled most of it because of the grade and exposure.
