...... to be determined.
That's right folks. We agressivly are taking on 2 project's this year and the goal is to raise up between $7500-$8500 to do it.
#1 has already been decided - Mt. Adams Firetower restoration (http://adkhighpeaks.com/forums/showthread.php?t=8800).
However, now that the Foundation has opened for membership, as per our BY-LAWS (http://www.adkhighpeaksfoundation.org/adkhpf/bylaws.html), the membership will have voting input into who will be awarded the second grant that we will fundraise for.
After our submission period (ending July 15, 2009), we had 3 prospective grant proposals that the board determined met the "submission" requirements to one degree or another. Within the next couple days, we will be holding an open vote that will last 5 days. The winner will be determined on those results. Only one of the three will be awarded.
You can only vote if you have -JOINED (http://www.adkhighpeaks.com/forums/membership.php)- the foundation as a member or family member. This is done in the "members" forum. If you want to be a part of that decision making process, you must join the foundation. Just being a member of this forum does not entitle you to a vote. Besides ensuring the continuation of these forums, this is perhaps the most important "benifit" to being a member. YOU HAVE A DIRECT SAY in how/who will be a benefactor of our generosity and fundraising efforts.
we currently have 28 single members and 5 family memberships as of today.
The current proposals come from
Adirondack Ski Touring Counsel
Champlain Area Trails (CATs)
Lower Adirondack Search and Rescue
Information pertaining to what each specific request is, and how the money will be utilized will be found in the "members forum". You can either choose to jump in and "be the judge" to determine which project fits our cause the most, or side on the sidelines and wait to be told. The choice is yours. ;)
