Hikerhiker

I haven't done much hiking in NH in many years. Had always driven by Moosilauke headed to the other peaks where I could do 2, 3 or 4 at once. 2 years ago my hiking buddy and I did Mt Cube and got a great view of Moosilauke and I said someday I am going to climb the massive hulk.
A couple weeks ago I decided to get out the guide books and plan a trip. I had decided to go up the Beaver Brook trail but due to the never ending rain at the last minute I changed my plans to the Carriage Road. This was a nice hike, mostly in the clouds but I did get a few openings. The lower part of the trail was very wet but no big surprise. Trail fairly easy, well graded and the upper part, once the ridge was reached was a pure pleasure. There was about 15 people on top and a naturalist from Ravine Lodge, sorry I didn't get his name but he helped me identify some of the Artic-Alpine plants.
Saw a lot of moose poop on the trail but again no mooses to be seen. I think I am the only hiker in the NE that has never seen a moose.
