Looks like the backside of Giant (eastside), but I could be wrong .... haven't been there in over 10 years, and not in winter.

I don't know the name of this slide on Wright, but it sure is purty.

If this is the slide on Wright, viewed from Marcy Dam it is called the "Angel Slide," I believe.

We have a winner. It was taken from the side of Green Mt.

Ahh, ok. I've never hiked Green.
I thought the slide looked familiar, and without looking at my photos, thought from RPR. Now that I think about it, I believe the east side of Giant has a lot more bare rock.
We stayed in a leanto, back in the 80's, somewhere on the north side of Giant. I'll have to see if I have any pics.

I was gonna post some pics of some White Mtn slides, but I see by the title of this thread that some people are prejudiced against the mountains of New Hampshire and Maine. Damn you!

Nice! I figured you'd get them. I got the 1st and 3rd correct, had no idea about the second one.
Signed,
Guy who wishes he knew them from actually being there and not just reading about them ;)

Well, I guess you could post some of those. They might be kinda interesting.
Of course the moderators around here are very stringent and might chastise you for thread hijacking...

I seem to remember reading somewhere about a comparison to shingling a roof. :D

Hahaha, yea. The method works pretty well, actually. What a smart guy!
I tried it two weeks ago, and as long as I have two layers on it is an excellent system.
Except when I stepped in a puddle or slipped into a stream. Funny thing about rain on roofs, it never falls up!

Yeah, I'm kinda afraid to take the chance. Internet hiking boards are all I've got. If I got booted, I'd have to actually start hiking once in a while.

And I though he woulda been worried about someone sitting in a winter brook in his boxers, what has this world come too?
Name the slides without looking at any code.

I'll go #1 Blake, I seem to remember that color from your pics.
2 looks like the true NippleTop not to be confused with the Canadian NippleTop.
3 I'm not sure...I then started to think the Scooter but isn't that Jack? I can't recall if he went with you, I thought it was just you and Glen having your souls eaten by black flies. Very odd for me to say I'm happy I missed that one.

I agree, this one slipped by me.
Here are a few lesser travel slide (but among my favorites).
Take a guess where they are :)
1) should be an easy guess. This was actually taken by someone else, but I went later (based on these shots :D)

2) Neil can't guess, cuz that's his ugly head in the way

3) Two of my favorite mountains EV'AH in this pic.

That part of Twin is pretty distinctive
3) Two of my favorite mountains EV'AH in this pic.
Hmm you even disguised the name of the picture so I can't cheat.

1) Of course. Beautiful slide, ehhhhh.
2) It is the twin, but that's not the split. that is just an island down low on the right sided slide. It's really the opening to the upper slabs.
3) The distinctive shapes of those peaks showing should be completely and totally imprinted in the memory banks of every remote adirondack backwoodsperson. From there it's a matter of triangulation. :D
