Last weekend we were in NH, after almost 6 months since the last visit. Saturday was a good day : 4 Huntington's were climbed. Our friend Karl joined us (he actually started the whole thing), and after spoting a car at the Hancock overlook we started the bushwhack from the Kancamagus Pass parking lot.

Doing the whole ridge was not too bad (8 hours in total), there's a lot of open spots up there. The worst was going up West Huntington. That peak is very particular, too bad we didn't find the top of the ledges so we can enjoy a view. 4 peaks, 4 canisters. NH is great.

Sunday I went for Kancamagus peak while JS was doing South Hancock. I started from the highway, and with a good planned route I made it up and down in less than 3 hours. I was punching through a little, even with snowshoes, but I took advantage (still !) of the crust over the blowdown fields just below the summit.

Oh, and I didn't find time to write a decent TR for our Wallface adventure, but the pics are online now, if you are interested : http://www.julillustration.com/wallface/index.htm

(Sorry I have absolutely no time for captions, but it's easy to figure it out : Julie, JS. Karl, nice views, fun day, spruce trap, fire tower, etc :D )

OH! Ok, I thought you said you bushwhacked into Huntington's Ravine earlier this week.. I guess my brain was still in ice climbing mode. I was thinking, why would you do that? But this makes better sense. :D

So many bushwhacks! So little time! So much snow!

Great pictures, great weather, great company.

Did you maintain forward momentum continuously throughout the entire hike?

I lie awake at night and wonder how much snow remains in Northern Vermont.

Oh boy, Neil, that you need to translate please. I'm dumber than you think.

Oh yeah ! Huntington, I can see where the confusion comes from  I was wondering why you were getting so much excited about a bushwhack :D

Nice foursome!

I was over on Sandwich Dome/Jennings/Noon sunday -- the conditions sucked, major leg engulfing rotten snow...you picked such a wonderful time of year to visit the Whites for some obscure bushwacks....what number are you at now?? I am at NEHH 88. Heading to the Cats this weekend where there is no snow.

edit..doh! Huntingtons...NHHH...ok...got it now.

Is there certain peaks your saving for each list to finish on?

Do you write ADKHH as 102 because of the PP peaks? If you don't do them does that mean you finish at 100/102?

:)

1) The only peaks I'm saving are the two Bigelow 4k's. I'm at 113/115 since June 08.

2) The only list I really care about has seven hundred-something peaks, so #100 doesn't mean much to me :D
