I know it's still a week and a half out, but here's the current long term forecast (http://www.accuweather.com/us/ny/keene/12942/forecast2.asp?partner=forecastfox&traveler=1&zipChg=1&metric=0) - showing ice next weekend.

Better get another keg.

Looks like I'll be accompanying 2 ladies on an ADK bushwhack so ice won't be an issue.

Wow - only three days after the OP, and the weather has changed from freezing rain to what looks to be a great weekend!

Don't worry, it'll change again three or four times before the weekend! Wish I could be there.

ooo, is this karma or what? I didn't think I was going to be able to come up this weekend - sharing costs and all that... I just put in a donation online...and my sister just emailed to suggest we do a late weekend trip to ADK!!! :D

Saturday
Partly sunny in the morning...then becoming mostly cloudy. Winds increasing to 80 mph and precipitation, at times heavy, will commence in late morning in the form of rain turning to freezing rain and wet snow. Probability of precipitation 100%. Highs around 32. Wind gusts up to 120 mph.

By evening both winds and precipitation will increase dramatically with heavy flooding expected, mainly in the Keene area. Overnight low in the low teens. Violent electrical storms and heavy accumulation of freezing rain warnings will go into full effect after midnight. Have a nice weekend.

forecast in the Albany area is calling for over an inch of rain to fall from Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning ...

not sure if that's going to head up to Keene or not, but ... be prepared!

I've been following the weather forecast for Keene. Not looking great at the moment.

Saturday: Rain likely, mainly after 2pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 59. Breezy, with a south wind 6 to 9 mph increasing to between 17 and 20 mph. Winds could gust as high as 34 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New rainfall amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.

Saturday Night: Rain, mainly before 2am. Low around 46. Breezy, with a south wind between 11 and 21 mph, with gusts as high as 39 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New rainfall amounts between three quarters and one inch possible.

Basically, the forecast sucks.

Which opens up all sorts of interesting opportunities for good times.

For those hiking, you should brush up on your "treating hypothermia" skills. You're bound to run into at least one hypothermic person.

Will there be many hiking tomorrow? The weather forecast is suppose to be clear skies. This event is a 3 day event? New to the ADKS:)
