Anybody have GPS coordinates or really good directions for getting to the base of the major slide on Moose Mountain in the McKenzie Range?

PM Neil, like everything else, I think he's done some research on it.

Phil,
This is a slide I've been hoping to do for a few years now. Met you with some friends on the Soda Range last year.

Is this the one on the side opposite the one that faces placid?

It's the prominent slide visible on the drive from Saranac Lake to Bloomingdale, so, yes, on the other side of the range from Lake Placid. I found it once but was unable to find it the next time I tried.
btw, I got a PM from Neil, who says he will reply on Friday.
PeakBgr, were you with Spencer Morrissey?

Yep, was with Spencer, Brian, Dick, Jo, Barbara, and our Lab, Boo.
We corresponded when "The Other 54" came out.

Here's a couple of pics taken from highway 3 directly across from and about 4 miles from the slide.

I guess I thought that slide (seen in the pics, from route 86) was the Kilbourn slide? No? This is a different slide?

Judging from the location, the colors in the pictures and the map. I'd say, it's a fairly nice 3.5-4 miles, predominantly level walk among the beeches to get there. I might be up for it.
