I'm planning an October trip to hear the elk bugle in NW PA, near St. Marys. Anyone interested in joining? It'll be a car-camp day-hike kinda trip, but I'm sure it'll be fun.
There's a whole story about how these elk were re-introduced from some of the Yellowstone herd stock. They now number over 500 head, and if you haven't heard an elk bugle, it's a pretty awesome thing.

Yeah, a friend told me about this herd. Told me it's pretty cool. Here's the elk cam if anyone is interested. I guess the best chance of seeing them is in the early morning and evening.

I'm going to check out the elk this Friday, on a drive through to Letchworth State park in WNY. Big event in Letchworth, for anyone interested in car-camping & carrying on, the full-story http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?guid=12364d06-2240-4309-ad41-dd6f40727d66. Totally a family-friendly gathering until the sun sets.
So that's a plan from here. Anyone interested in checking out 1.) elk or 2.) drunk nerdy geocachers (I is one), drop me a PM.
Ciao,
