View Full Version : Does the Catskills 3500 club allow XC Skiers?

I am not sure if the old tally sheet mentioned it but the new one (as linked above) specifically states those that have climbed on foot the 35 peaks....

Does that mean if one XC skies up a peak, that it doesn't count? the ADK 46rs do not have that rule and I am just curious about the Catskills 3500 club... heck, what about snowshoes? :)

JayOn foot does not mean barefoot! Skiing counts. Cycling does not. :twisted:

The "on foot" was added to the form because it is in the Club's bylaws, Article III-Membership, section 1:

"To be eligible for membership, one must climb on foot the summits specified on the "Official List", set forth herein, and in addition must climb the four summits on the "Winter Summits List" between December 21 and March 21".

Wow, some of you guys read pretty closely........and I agree with Tom, that skis comply with "on foot", but "on wheels" would not.
