Has anyone hiked the Loyalsock trail in pennsylvania? It's near me but I don't know of anyone who has hiked it. It looks like it would be a fun trip with not much travel time for me. any info would be appreciated :D

Adamsets, I backpacked half of the Loyalsock around 1998 and the other half in 2001.

Having done many of the trails in Northcentral PA numerous times, I decided to give this one a twirl. I found I didn't really enjoy it like the BFT or STS or WRT. This trail, while a bit more remote just seemed to be harder than other trails - I don't know if it is because it is a true footpath in many places rather than old rail grades and tote roads, or just the multitude of ups and downs that seemed endless and alomost circular at times. There were also some pretty ugly gashes from where tornados/hurrican remnants touched down years ago.

Many love that trail, and as much as I love backpakcing and wilderness, I found that after backpacking the first half, I was in no hurry to go back.
