Okay, this is probably the dumbest thing I ever did  , but...........
Neil has given keys to the castle and is now a moderator. This group is so darn good though, I've not yet needed to moderate a thing so far. Just the same take some time to welcome him aboard :)
Someone do or say something stupid, we need to see if he is any good.

Okay, I'll try, but those of you who know will admit I speak the truth: Tim is homely and Katie dresses him funny........

How's this to see if your moderator is awake.
"well, I guess if it was between Neil Redhawk or Kevin, then you just didn't have much of a choice.... "
PS Am I allowed to mention those names here? :D
SERIOUSLY, congratulations Neil!!!

Someone do or say something stupid, we need to see if he is any good. Thanks (I think) Tim,
So far this is the easiest job I ever had. The pay could be better but you can't have it all I guess. Tim obviously didn't need help moderating this forum but asked me to help make it a busier, different, forum. (I simply could not imagine deleting a post or banning a member.)
Lately, it has been a lot busier around here and Tim and I have been bouncing a few ideas back and forth. The strength is in the members of course and if you have an idea for improving the forum either post it publicly or PM Tim or myself.
I would call this forum,"The Best Little Adirondack Hiking Forum".
Rick- IF those were the choices, Mavs certainly picked the right man for the "job".
Congrats Neil...

Congratulations Neil!
I've been camping in Maine for two weeks and catching up on all the news out there in internet land! I've waded through an awful lot of stuff and this is the nicest thing I've read yet!
Neil, let's hear your ideas. Hmmm.... Neil's armchair hikes for the uninitiated. Throw out the itineraries and see who comes back alive. If they live then you invite them to go out with you on the next trip.
Again, congratualtions. Tim's site has always been good and I'm sure you'll be a great addition.
edit: Made my way through the rest of the new posts and I can see you've been at work here Neil. I especially like the GPS hints and hope that all you guys with the techno brains keep posting ideas and hints.

ADKatie,
It just hit me after I read a couple of posts where you mentioned Tim or Vice Versa, that you are Tim's wife (Or more correctly, Tim is your Husband).
Geez How long have I been asleep here, even after reading all the trips report over the past year or so.
(Well, to make up for my lack of common sense here, ADKatie, I thought you were perhaps Tim's teenage daughter until I looked back on the main "about us/who we are" page, and came to my startling conclusion)
Happy Labor Day Weekend Everyone!!! :D
