Have any of you stumbled onto this guy's site yet? It's amazing.
Don't even bother clicking this link if you don't have time to kill, as it is gonna suck you in for awhile.

Enjoy --> http://wandel.ca/viewbrowser/index.cgi

As a hiker I'm impressed. As a former photog who traded in his wedding camera for 2 kayaks and is now using a CRAPPY digi-camera instead of a nice 35mm that I once carried, I'm REALLY impressed by the quality of his pics. Makes me wanna start lumping around a better camera.

I came across Marcus Wandel's site and photos some while ago, while searching out photos that might help me relive my long-ago scramble up the Mt. Colden Trap Dike. What I found was a real treat that captured the sense of the climb better than any other set(s) of photos I've seen.

His other photo journals are great, too.

Thanks for posting the link, Alpine Summit. Isn't that photo of Big Slide from The Brothers a beaut?!?

Wow, what a treat! Think I'll sit here at the screen, crush a coupla balsam boughs for effect , spray myself with water to replicate good old adk weather, and make believe I'm there, saving 650 round trip miles and untold gallons of gas in the process!

I guess I am going to have to go hiking tomorrow so I can create a trip report since it is so quiet around here. Oh the sacrifices one has to make for the greater good.
