Slide Mt. Mishap?

Sunday afternoon when I turned around at the Slide Mt. PA there were a couple of rangers there and 3 ranger vehicles at the Winnisook Lake, end of the jeep road parking. Was there a rescue or something going on?

Not sure about anything on Slide

On my return from doing a Slide mountain Cornell mountain in and out. I passed a ranger who told me he was just out for a routine trail patrol checking for any problems. Ended up walking out for last mile or so with the ranger.
He thanked me for picking up some trash I found on trail (toothbrush, bottle of mouth rinse, empty water bottle, and a discusting wool cap).
Once I ws back to the parking area at C.R. 47 (around 3:30 pm) he just sat down on the logs at the trailhead sign in.
