I knew it was going to be a good day when I got in the Jeep and my Smiths CD was already in the player. I met Jay at the Escarpement trailhead on rt 23, and we drove down to meet Mudhook at the Windham Lodge. We got a 945 start and headed up The upper wheelchair trail. The double black diamond definately got my calves burning. We reached the summit ridge in just over an hour. The hike up wasn't to bad. A little slippery in some spots. Jay lost about 10ft. on one slide. On the ridge we made a quick left and was at the summit in no time. After a few quick summit pics we headed towards, Cave.

We started on Upper wraparound, and at the sharp turn sported the atv trail to Cave. The atc trail wasn't too bad, but the ridge was alittle longer than it looks. Once we got near the first aid station we headed into the woods until Jay for a marked tree that look like the summit to us. We ducked out of the wind back at the first aid station and ate lunch. We had a choice on the way down between the longer Wander trail or a couple of quicker steeper trails. Since we had plenty of time we decided on the longer one. We spotted 2 red foxes (the animal, not the comedian) on the way down. A nice little treat in addition to the deer Mudhook spotted on the ridge. At the bottom we had another good laugh at the 3500 club located in the lodge. nothing like a 3500 club on a 3100 ft mountain. We were back at the cars by 1:30. A nice quick hike, and a good way to start the 100hh.

A nice hike, too bad we didn't get the views. Not a soul around today, which probaly explains the Red Fox we saw although they must be pretty used to skiers.

Too bad the Exclusive 3500 Club ,(members only) wasn't open, we could have used our 3500 Club cards to get in,there had to be snow bunnies in there:D

Why would you need snow bunnies when you had foxes. :)
