I'm not a techno-guru, so I need some help. We bought a new fangled Dell computer with all the bells and whistles, it's very nice! However, the interface cable for my Garmin has a 9-pin connection at the computer end; the computer doesn't have such a thing, only USB.

So I looked on Garmins site, and they have an adapter cable to convert the 9-pin to USB. For a paltry $60!

Accessory: USB to RS232 converter cable

Can I buy something like this cable for much less, or do I need to use Garmin equipment?

Thanks , Tom

Just had athought, this adapter has what looks to be a 9-pin 'female adapter? So to get that to mate with the female end on the origional cord, would I also have to get one of these?
