Nice warm, calm day today compared to yesterday. Got to the Peck Road PA around 9:30AM. Today it would be Jennifer, Barry, Cathy and I. Jennifer and I were thrilled to see a snowmobile had gone up the trail, we were hoping it had gone all they way up to the summit. :) We followed the snomobile tracks up to around the lean-to, but the trail today was broken out all the way up to the summit. It was great to be hiking on broken trail especially after yesterdays hike. It was a nice walk up to the summit as we were all chatting on the way up. Stopped at the view point to take some pics of the Blackheads and have a snack. With that who comes rambling along but Mudhook and Jay, what a welcome surprise. When we got to the trailhead late I figured we must have missed them. Introductions were made and some more chatting then off to the summit we all went with Mudhook and Jay joining our group. Some more pics at the summit, which I will post later and then down we headed for a nice walk and fun conversation with some old and new friends. Thanks for a great day guys!!!

Sounds like you had a nice full weekend of hiking. I bet you were glad to see those two. Mudhook is the only one who knows where everything goes in your pack. I think he keeps showing up so you leave that nice jacket to him in your will.

Jim and I got to the elm ridge leanto around 9:35 after leaving Rt 23 sometime around 9am. Passed a few ADK group hikers and barebooted our way on the nicely packed snowmobile packed trail out to the leanto. We spent about 20 minutes there decorating the snowman and wandering around and delayering and stuff. Waited til about 10am and decided to continue up the mtn. Put on our snowshoes after a little bit and caught up to the ADK group on the summit. After eating my lunch and looking at Albany and the mtns in the distance, we decided to go down and by the southerly viewpoint just below the summit, who do we see? Snickers! So we hang out and redo the summit and hike down with her and her motley gang..Kathy, Jennifer, and Barry (hope I didn't leave anybody else out).
