Typical Jan. morning..... for southern Georgia. Started late at around 9:30am. The rain had slowed to just an off and on light drizzle. All the streams and rivers were high. Trail from seager was muddy but in good shape. I continued on the trail until about 100ft past the backhoe. That makes since if you've ever been on this trail. I headed straight up the high point on the ridge line. Pretty uneventful hike to the top. Samething as Mudhook said on Holcott, hit the first layer of clouds about 2700' and had about 15' of vis by 3100'. I did manage to almost circumnavigate the summit like an idiot. I did manage to figure out what I was doing before my first full lap. As I was signing in the canister I heard a group heading towards me from Graham. They had parked at the same place as me, so I stuck with them for the trip down. Very slippery on the hike down everyone of us fell at least once. I fell once about 1/4 of the way down and managed to not fall on the mountain again. However, the second I got back on the flat access road at the bottom, I toke 2 steps a tripped. I also decided to take a bath it flat iron brook. The rocks were really slick. The first one I stepped one I slipped and in I went. Thats #25 almost there

Welcome to the forum. Always trust your compass. Well, almost always.
If you could navigate in that fog, you'll be fine.

How much icing was there on top? I ask because it was 34 down here in Poughkeepsie yesterday, so I figured it would be all sleet up there.

none at all. It was soaked up top. so if it dropped below freezing up there last night, then I imagine it is a sheet of ice by now. I thought the samething, but it was in the mid 30's up top and the temp was barely lower than the valley
