Chicken Coop Brook

How's the bushwhack up Chicken Coop Brook to the col between Saddleback and Basin? Is it too tough for a first time bushwhack?

Not at all hard, I thought it was awesome. Just stay left at the 'Y" up high or you'll go up the wrong slide. No big deal, but the other route is a little easier above the slide.

I'm on my way out of town overnight, but PM me and I'll give you better details privately. Suffice to say for now, it's a good route and a prettly little brook.

Pat, I will concur with Tim, it is a sweet little gem. Most of the hike is in the brook bed, but in the start behind the BFalls LT, you have to skirt up on the banks. That slide up to the SB-Basin col looked pretty impressive!
