Last minute cancellations have left 2 rooms available at the Ark Trail Inn.

Here's hoping that someone takes them before 8pm tonight.

After 8pm they will be made available to the general public.

I have a call into them. Is there some special code or phrase we need to leave on the machine?

It's a great place to stay. Unforunately they can't match the price that I get for sleeping in the back of the Subaru.

Thanks for the tip!

I just booked a room for two nights and look forward to attending my first Winter Gathering.

It's been a long winter of SOMA for me so if you're out in the woods on Saturday and hear creaking and wheezing sounds ... that'll be me.

What is Soma?

Soma is a muscle relaxer that works by blocking pain sensations between the nerves and the brain.

I gotta get me some of that!

(I always asscoated Soma with "Brave New World")

associated.

Sorry. Too much SOMA.

Sounds like the two rooms have been picked up by forum members. Good thing too. Imagine some poor unsuspecting souls finding themselves amongst the likes of ourselves.

I tried to book one of them this morning but they require a two night stay and we only needed Sat. night. Trail Boss, glad you got one... say hi to everyone for me! Glad to see you on here again!!

Thanks, Photobug. I'm definitely looking to 'wash my spirit clean' this weekend.

I'm in too. Looking forward to seeing everyone and trying to haul my out of shape butt up a mountain.

FWIW, not Huxley's SOMA. A string of illnesses have kept me Sittin' On My A$$ for a good chunk of the winter hiking season.

I was planning to resume hiking with BogHollow in December (good times last Winter!) but it wasn't meant to be. Now I'm the guy in the "before" picture and Tom is, without question, the "after". Go Tom go!

Teras , good to see your face again. I'm thinking Cascade for Sun. if interested. (Probably sneak up Porter also). Might be an easy entrance back into the sport. I'm staying the weekend @ base camp. See you @ the Gath.

Brave new world
We are nothing but potatoes on a conveyor belt ( a painting in homage to brave new world )
America: soma = beer for the rednecks, pot for the hippies.
Grateful Dead Arrowhead stadium ( 7- 1- 1978 100 + degrees !!! ) with Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson. Redneck ( drunk out of mind ) meets hippie (stoned out of mind) in a total meltdown.
