My hiking buddy and i are looking to do Sawteeth and the Gothics on the 18th. We could use the company,,,not because we love to share misery....because we need to consider breaking trail. We will be off to an early start on that day...probably around 630 am. We hike at a good pace...we are experienced winter hikers/climbers ...anyone want to hit those two with us? We are heading up from Albany.

as of now not much trail breaking going on, crampons are choice tools mostly unless something drastic happens. long as you up there might as well hit armstrong, its not far from junction if your access is from AMR.

I have been hiking the cats and some vermont high peaks lately so wasnt sure about trail conditions. thanks.....ps...i havent used snowshoes all season. I hiked killington last weekend and didny need them...but needed the crampons on the spur...safety first

What bridge is out coming off the gothics? I dont feel like adding 3 miles to an already 14 mile hike. Anyone?

Charlie,
Planning on hitting Goth/Arm/UWJ on Saturday. I plan to use Beaver Meadow trail, but if that is not broken out we will be chasing you over Pyramid.

Charlie, there are several groups going up there tomorrow, including my wife and I, to Armstrong from Beaver Meadow. Did you check the Gathering posts?

Sounds good, that was what we meant by 8, 'boots on trail', not arrive at P.A.!
