Winter Gathering Fundraiser 2012
Our winter gathering has become our single largest fundraising event. It is also a chance to put a face to a screen name and have a great time.
The generosity of the forum members over the years has been extraordinary, basically this is how the ADKHighpeaks Foundation got started.
In 2008, we began a grass roots, “pass the hat” effort and with minimal effort we were able to raise $5000 to purchase needed equipment for the Keene Valley Fire Department’s Wilderness Rescue Team, which operates out of the High Peaks area of the Adirondacks. This Foundation was born from that effort. We have since been registered with the Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)(3) non-profit charity for the express purpose of raising money to donate to wilderness projects in areas within the NYS Forest Preserve.
Your generosity has allowed us to provide over $20,000 in grants to causes that you support.
I'd prefer to make my donation based on some wild accomplishment of Rik's!
We've had river romps, and pushups, (thankfully not bras! ), what's it going to be this year? :D

By The Way we have a generous member who will be enjoying my indentured servitude as a trail-breaker for the Gathering weekend.
Yup that member made a $500 donation.:tup::tup::tup:
Thank YOU
It turns out that some people prefer a more human "touch" when it comes to giving. Making a donation electronically via Penpal doesn't cut it for some folks and I am more than ready to comply.
Last year a lot of cash and checks were inserted into my pockets. I certainly hope the giving experience was a good for you as the getting was for me. I am ready to repeat this any time anywhere.

I'll pay $100 to see Rik in that Dominatrix regalia he was sporting on his avatar a while back. :drop:

Best fundraising idea ever, I'll gladly pay $110 to not see Rik (or any other forum member for that matter) in that attire.

Ok, Bignslow your court...
Feel free to get others and pool your bid...
I'll do $120, but after that I'm going to require additional financial backing. I know better than to get in a bidding war with those NH residents with their deep pockets :D
Plus Nicole actually likes rocky horror, so I doubt she'll approve of my bidding.

Hmmmm, so I guess that would be $210 to me. Dang, I guess I'm out. But you folks are missing a great opportunity to remove Rik from any political race he might ever want to take part in. Well... other than in New York.
BTW, I'm still good for the hundred bucks.

You could always add to Paradox's fund if you don't want to see it...
I promise to wash it before I make you wear it...
NO...I tell you what I will donate a $100 so I don't have to wear it at another date:D

Thanks for playing Charlene. And for helping me stay dressed...
It would be fun to see you in the jersey again but the money to the foundation is better yet. And I get to wear it to the gathering...
Speaking of which, is Mavs going to the gathering this year?
Honestly this was money well spent and got me out of something I wasn't looking forward too!
