If an image isn't showing up, it's usually a problem with the host, not the forum.

I went to the webshots website, and I noticed this in their terms of service:

You may not use Webshots in any manner that interferes with our normal operations or with the use and enjoyment of another user. You may only access Webshots and the Content through the interfaces provided by Webshots.

This means that embedding your images that are hosted on the webshots website into your posts here is a violation of their terms of service. It's possible that they've recently updated their site to include software that prevents users from doing this, which is why your photos recently stopped working.

The reason for this is the cost of bandwidth and hosting services. When you post your webshots images in threads on a different website, you are using their services but denying them the traffic to their website. When that traffic doesn't visit their website, users aren't exposed to the advertising that is used on the site, which means less revenue to help pay for running a large website like webshots.

Do you have a webshots premium account? Typically, if you are willing to pay money for image hosting, you end up with a service that provides you with a lot more options concerning how to share your photos. It'd be worth looking into.

I typically only share one or two photos on forums, and then provide a link to my entire photo album, which I use picasaweb (http://picasaweb.google.com/116537596394442741068?showall=true) to host. That way, traffic is directed straight to the image host. For the one or two photos that I post on the forums, I use a service that is intended primarily as an image host for the purpose of posting images to message boards: Imageshack (http://imageshack.us/).

Thanks for the reply. That all makes sense. I'll have to look into doing something differant. I check out the picasa and imageshack. I've enjoyed viewing your photos - you do a great job.

I had no problem posting here with Webshots yesterday.

In Webshots look for the "Link to this Picture" below the Facebook/Twitter sections. After clicking on the picture you want to post. Chose the size, left click on the link then copy and paste in the ADKHighPeaks post.
Hope this helps.

Hiker 41 - just figured out what "I" was doing wrong. Thanks for the post though.
