Hi Everybody,
I have lost an expensive pair of FENDI prescription sunglasses last winter December, in a hard black case in the snow on the way to street & Nye. The snow was fairly deep, I am sure it has all melted now and someone must have seen these as I think they fell out of the pocket of my pack before even crossing the stream, on the path even before Mt.Jo. I have given up on them but think it is worth one last try. k Let me know if you have seen these. Thanks Jeanne

You might try calling the High Peaks Information Center (518-523-3441) and asking if anyone dropped them off. It's not uncommon that items lost on the trails near Heart Lake are turned in there.

Good luck!

Thanks,
I did that several times back then, but I'll try it again now.:)

I'm walking that way tomorrow. I'll keep an eye out for them.

I had my eyes open and looking around, and I saw some shiny black plastic which was half burried... but it was a comb that someone lost. No success. I did find someone's T-shirt, though.

A problem with loosing something in the winter, is that the winter route may not exactly follow the herd path.... for example, there is a wet muddy section where the path used to go straight. We rerouted that up a little hill, where it is dryer. With snow covered ground, however, it makes sense to go straight, following the lay of the land.

Thanks Pete,
That is true about the trails, by the way, I can't resist, why didn't you just put down your axe and put the tee shirt on?, lol, thanks, Jeanne
