On Sunday I headed for the AT trailhead in Sa;ibury, CT to do this hike. The trailhead was easy to miss, at least for me, but I found it at about 8:10 AM and Sheba and I immediatley got on the trail. We wound our way up to the Lion's Head and arrived in about and hour. The views were good but it was hazy. We then walked the AT To Bear Mt. passing several campsites along the way. The stone pyramid at the top of Bear was impressive and the views were good.

I decided to head down the STEEP north side of Bear on the AT and eneded up over the border in MA. I debated going into Sage's Ravie but decided to save it for another day. We made a right on the Paradise Lane Trail and took it to the Undermountain Trail. Another right took us back wwest to the At. THis time the views from Lions Head were better but it was occupied by an inconsiderate family group. They were spread across the entire lookout and did not seem willing to move an inch. They seemed like "nice" people but were simply oblivious to the fact that they were not alone! We were back at the car at around 2:25 PM. It was 13.6 miles in 6 hours and well worth the walk.
